Museums & Genealogical Libraries
Hidden throughout the mountains, you will find fascinating museums that house everything from Dr. Walter Tewksbury’s 1900 Olympic medal and a Japanese flag captured at Iwo Jima, to themed displays including the life history of famous Gospel songwriter P.P. Bliss, and tools and artifacts that represent over 200 years of agricultural history in the area. Family history is a popular selling point of our area museums, with most housing extensive genealogical libraries to help the curious find ties to the area.
